Richard started with Fonterra in 2008 and since then has worked across all ends of Fonterra’s global ‘Grass to Glass’ value chain. As Group Director Farm Source he currently leads the farmer facing side of the business who connect with Fonterra’s farmer-shareholders right where it all begins: on-farm with the milk. Prior to this Richard and his family lived in Shanghai where he followed the milk the whole way through to the other end of the value chain. He led Fonterra’s Anchor Food Professionals Food Service business across Mainland China and Hong Kong, enabling customers to serve high quality dairy creations to their millions of consumers. There is a lot that goes on in getting the milk from farm to the consumer’s glass, and throughout this process Richard has held roles in supply chain, manufacturing planning and optimisation, and strategy.

Richard is also Director and Co-Founder of Snowball Effect, New Zealand’s leading online equity marketplace, and takes an active interest in working with some of New Zealand’s fastest growing small businesses.
