Atypical Spectral Monitoring

MilkTestNZ now has the capability to analyse raw milk samples for abnormalities. The ASM test provides customers a means of screening milk for economic adulteration as well as unintentional contamination.

The test is carried out on the same instrument used for composition analysis.  The samples received for composition testing can therefore also be used for the ASM test, minimising the cost to our customers. The mid-infrared spectrum of the tested milk sample is compared against a “normal” sample to detect for abnormalities.

Adulterants such as melamine, DCD etc can be detected.

Further testing and in-depth data analysis can be carried out to help detect the cause of any detected abnormalities.

Contact us today for further information about how the ASM test can assist you.
